Ugly Sweater Parties are all the rage and we’ve got a perfect mix of food, activities and preparations to make your shindig the ugliest of the season.
First thing is first - you gotta have guests
Make sure to send out invitations 2-3 weeks prior to the event to give your guests time to find a really ugly sweater. In the invite don't forget to mention the date, time and of course, our Closet (www.UglySweaterStore.com) so your guests can dress for success!
If you feed them, they will come
Try to avoid traditional Christmas dishes because you can only eat so much turkey during the holiday season. Instead, roam the aisles of your local grocery store and grab green and red colored crackers, snacks and veggies.
If you'd like to serve something heartier, we've got a really ugly menu.
- Appetizer: Pickle Poppers
- Entrée: Tater Tot Casserole
- Dessert: Ugly Sweater Sugar Cookies
For a drink, just mix up your favorite cocktail and rename it an "Ugly-tini" or something equally as clever.

Idea #1 - Ugly Sweater Contest
No ugly sweater party is complete without a contest. Here's how to host one:
1. Pull aside the top 5 ugliest sweaters you see at the party
2. Bring out your teacher voice to quiet down the party
3. Announce that the contest has begun and how the winner will be determined
4. Ask your guests to vote by a round of applause
5. Then hand out an ugly sweater trophy to the winner

Idea #2 - Ugly Cookie Decorating
Provide pre-baked sweater-shaped sugar cookies for your guests along with various decorating treats and frosting colors. Your guests will have a blast decorating their cookies to look like the sweaters at the party. If you're up for it, take this to the next level and have a mini ugly sweater contest - cookie style.
